I’m in a band called Milkmaid; the name was sort of a dirty joke about my mouth. We write shoegaze, digitalcore ambient music. It’s me and Dean Swanson of Hidden Number and we work out of Seattle once a year and create soundscapes. Our first effort was called Transmissions from the Fourth Dimension and will be used to score mine and Josh Darling’s first short feature Albatross.
Josh Darling and I are working an another explicit piece about mermaids and a tugboat operator set for spring. The film will be set to the music of Milkmaid’s second album La Sirene. Here is a song from that album, a remake of Song to the Siren.
It’s kind of awesome to be able to score your own movies, and well, to write them and edit them and everything else.
