Death to This Distance

I find that distance is a theme in my romantic life. The nature of my work and the fluid nature I like to keep my living circumstances means that I have wives in many ports. I deal with the distance through a deep and abiding love of skype, the telephone, email and breif clusters of days every few months. If you want to love me, you have to work with me on something. I give all of myself to my creative endeavors and so the people who manage to be closest to me are those that I work with. Joshua and are always together, making something new. I work with Nica Noelle nearly exclusively the rest of the time, and when I’m not doing that, I’m planning outrageous burlesque undertakings with Madame Rosebud. Over the last two and a half years I’ve made endless texts, skype calls, and flights. I’ve written countless emails and poems. And I’ve made some videos. Enjoy this retrospective.

Anchor Poem

by Sovereign Syre

the anchor plumbs the depths of the black water
see how the sea gathers around itself
like a thousand yards of velvet whirling out
aross the shore, puffing the sails of listing ships
glistening in the port.  Say the word un coeur, sail it
out on the cold surface of the night like
a single white petal floating toward its
reflection.  Countless blossoming stars warm
the infinite distances of space to light
the brass point of the sailor’s astrolabe, see
how even the littlest things can burn with
enough heat to guide us back home.

“You glow like a perfumed lamp in the gathering shadows” for Madame Rosebud

Back in Black for JM Darling

And of course, the video that started it all. I made this for JM Darling before we’d ever met. Fleshbot found it on the tube site I’d uploaded it to and put it on their frontpage. A star was born I guess: I touch Myself

Please Enjoy,

Sovvy.
